Helmet Basketball is played every weekend in hundreds of dealerships around the country.
The game starts when someone reaches up on the shelf to grab a helmet to try on. And of course its always the most expensive helmets that are stocked up high right.
Then the helmet catches on the shelf or the chin strap gets caught and next thing you know it slips out of their hands and drops to the floor where it bounces when they try to grab it and bang .... there it goes again dribbling on the floor.
Helmets are pretty solid and are designed to protect your head from impact.
But they aren't really designed to be dribbled across a tile floor and still do their job.

The "Helmet Football" Variation of the game
Helmet Football starts with a similar situation to Helmet Basketball. A helmet slips out of some ones hands and starts dropping to the floor when just before impact the customer sticks out their foot to try to keep it from being damaged by hitting the hard floor and punts the helmet down the aisle where it caroms along until coming to a rest against a case of oil or a plastic gas can. I have seen it many times. That's why we don't sell any helmets online that have been used for display at the races. Local dealerships have a really difficult task as they have so many services they need to provide: new bike sales, used sales, finance, warranties, service department, parts counter, general accessories, jackets, boots and also helmets. With so much to take care of it's hard to be expert in everything, or for that matter anything. And since most local dealers charge full retails, they aren't the highest volume outlets either. So a helmet can sit on the shelf for quite a while gathering dust and taking up space on the shelf and the newer models may never get ordered for a while. I see many of these stores in my travels, and we use a nickname for these types of outlets: "Helmet Museums".

Our Helmets have never spent any time on retail store shelves being tried on by who know who with who knows what in their hair. Most helmets are shipped either from the nearest in-stock regional distribution site directly to your door. Special buy and close out specials are shipped directly from our Ohio Distribution center.
Helmets we use for sizing at the races are removed form our inventory and not sold as new helmets.
Orders placed by 1:00 pm EST are generally shipped that day assuming credit card information is correct. New customers shipping to an address other than that on file by the credit card company can create a slight delay while we take extra steps to verify your information.
